Robert Louie is one of the four core “Bears” on the APTN show Bear’s Lair The former Westbank First Nation chief debuted a new TV show over the weekend. Robert Louie is one of the mentors at APTN’s Bear’s Lair. Bear’s Lair is similar to shows like Dragon’s Den and Shark Tank, but is the first to feature Indigenous entrepreneurs. Louie is one of the “bears,” a group of Indigenous business tycoons and guest judges who will decide which of the 18 entrepreneurs competing in the first season will receive a share of $180,000 in prize money. It is one of the four core “bears” in the series. The premiere episode of Bear’s Lair aired on September 11. The founder of Indigenous World Winery and Distillery led the WFN from 1986 to 1996 and from 2002 to 2016 and is running for re-election this year. He has also served as chairman and director of more than 30 companies ranging from construction and forestry to retail and housing development and is an expert in Indigenous law. The winner of Bear’s Lair will win $100,000, but the support doesn’t end there. The team will continue to help the contestants beyond their respective episodes. Coaching will be offered to past contestants on an ongoing basis. In addition, they will have access to the Bears’ Lair Resource Center, which includes webinars, online courses, technology tools and more. Bear’s Lair airs Sundays at 7:30pm exclusively on APTN.
