The office of Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is inviting Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Illinois Governor J. More than 100 immigrants who arrived in Chicago after being bussed from Texas on Sept. 7 were taken out of the city and into nearby suburbs — but mayors in many cities were given little to no notice that the immigrants would arrive. Village of Elk Grove Mayor Craig Johnson told Fox News Digital in an interview that he received a call from Pritzker’s office on Sept. 9 informing him that an “immigrant bus” had been sent to his town that afternoon, but he did not provided further Details. After a delay from the governor’s office, according to Johnson, 90 immigrants showed up on Sept. 10 at the La Quinta Hotel. Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso, a Republican, said no state or city of Chicago officials have contacted him about a busload of 64 immigrants who showed up in his town at a Hampton Inn after initially arriving in Chicago. Renae Eze, a spokeswoman for Abbott, told Fox News Digital that Lightfoot and Pritzker are “absolute hypocrites.” “So much for Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance. These Democratic elites are utter hypocrites and now their hypocrisy is on full display across the nation. Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot have complained about a few hundred immigrants being bused into the self-proclaimed sanctuary city of Chicago, then turned around and dumped in Instead of protesting about fulfilling their “welcoming city” promises, these Democratic hypocrites they should call on President Biden to do his job and secure the border — something the President continues to fail to do,” he said. The state has a history of in relation to the hotel being used in the suburbs and its staff have done an amazing job welcoming refugees and asylum seekers in the past, so it’s interesting that local officials are choosing this particular example to denounce the press about this particular group of applicants asylum consisting of about 30 families Governor Pritzker has made it clear that Illinois is [a] The welcoming state and xenophobia have no home here,” Abudayyeh said.
