Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was injured after a car accident. Zelensky had returned to Kyiv after traveling to visit a newly captured city in the northeastern province of Kharkiv when the accident occurred, and was later seen by a doctor, spokesman Sergey Nikiforov wrote on social media. “The president was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found,” he said. The Ukrainian president was slightly injured and the causes of the accident are being investigated. Mr Zelensky traveled to Izyum earlier on Wednesday to attend a flag raising ceremony. The now-destroyed city was used by the Russians as a key supply hub before it was liberated late last week by the Ukrainian military as part of a major advance in northeastern Ukraine. In other news, residents in a southern Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih were told to evacuate due to the risk of flooding after rockets hit a large dam, city chief Oleksandr Vilkul said on Wednesday.

He added that “high value” equipment was abandoned by the fleeing forces, including weapons necessary to enable Russia’s artillery-centric warfare. “Among them is at least one ZOOPARK anti-battery radar and at least one IV14 artillery command and control vehicle,” the update said. “Such abandonment highlights the disorganized retreat of some Russian units and possible local breakdowns in command and control.” Ukrainian soldiers drive near Izium, Kharkiv region.
