At around 7pm COSAR were called to locate and remove an injured dirt biker from the Little White area. The female had crashed while riding on single track and injured her leg badly enough that she was unable to drive or go out. COSAR sent twelve volunteers, including their ATV, UTV and eBike team. The eBike team contacted the rider and her partners at 9 p.m. and provided first aid while other teams prepared for extraction. The person was taken to the ambulance at 2:15 am. and was taken to the hospital. “The team of three riders were well prepared and were able to communicate their location, keep their riding partner warm with a fire and protect her from the rain,” said search manager Rob Brown. This was COSAR’s 69th announcement for 2022. COSAR would like to remind outdoor enthusiasts to visit adventuresmart.ca and learn about trip planning, the 10 essentials and training.
