The House of Assembly Management Committee received a review of a report conducted by Citizen’s Rep regarding allegations of harassment and intimidation within the General Elections Office. The original report outlining the allegations and concerns came to light in Parliament in May and appeared to be unknown to the provincial government. It was discovered that Speaker Derek Bennett had the report for several months before it became public when Independent MHA Paul Lane began asking questions of the legislature. This prompted the government to order a review of the report by former chief justice Derek Green. Green’s 180-page review was submitted to the House of Assembly Management Committee yesterday. The Committee will provide further information once the findings and additional material have been considered and a committee meeting has been scheduled.
