According to Hollywood Police spokeswoman Deanna Bettineschi, the police department received a call about a possible threat at the school, located at 6501 Hollywood Blvd. McArthur High and West Hollywood Elementary School were placed on lockdown and police closed Hollywood Boulevard in the area as they investigated. Bettineschi said officers remain on campus to ensure all students and staff members are safe. Sky 10 was above the scene just before 1.30pm as police officers with long guns walked the campus. (WPLG) It does not appear that students were evacuated from the school at any point, but were kept in their classrooms. Several parents gathered outside the campus, but Bettineschi said authorities are asking parents and guardians not to attempt to respond to the school at this time.
