Officers initially responded to a call about a person with a knife in the area of Pharmacy Avenue and Sesame Street on Sept. 10.
Police arrived to find a person had their car stolen at knifepoint.
According to police, the victim drove his vehicle to a parking lot, where he and two women agreed to meet.
The victim then drove the two women to another location, police said. A little while later all three got out of the vehicle and stood nearby.
Police said two men wearing masks then approached the victim brandishing a knife and demanded the keys to the vehicle.
The victim handed over his keys and the two men and two women fled the area in the vehicle.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and investigators were able to identify one of the male suspects. As a result, on Thursday, they executed a search warrant at his residence.
Police said the suspect was at the home during the investigation and was taken into custody. Officers also reportedly found the clothes the suspect was wearing during the robbery and confiscated them.
On Friday night, police announced they had charged a 16-year-old Toronto boy with robbery with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent, conspiracy to commit an offence, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply. with a test.
His name cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police said the victim’s vehicle has been recovered. Investigations are continuing for the remaining three suspects. The second male suspect is described as Black, 20 years old, with a thin build.
One of the female suspects is described as light-skinned, in her 20s, with a slim build, brown hair and braces, while the other is described as Black with a slim build and brown curly hair.
