The family of 14-year-old Luna Hinojosa told Eyewitness News that she died of an overdose a week ago. Hinojosa was a freshman at Nogales High School. Although family members did not want to talk about the circumstances of her death, they only confirmed that drugs were involved. Reports of Hinojosa’s death came just days before four students overdosed on fentanyl at Bernstein High School in Hollywood. One of the teenagers, 15-year-old Melanie Ramos, died. Since then, two teenagers have been arrested in connection with her death. I mean, you’re taking a big chance with fentanyl and just stop and think about what you’re going to do to your parents if you take it.” Fentanyl is considered extremely dangerous and LA DEA officials said it can be more deadly than heroin.
