Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz was attacked Thursday on a flight about gun control and school safety policies, prompting the senator to call the rioter a “partisan.” The senator, along with his fellow passengers, was preparing to exit the plane, which was landing in Texas, when a passenger filmed Cruz and began to press him with questions. “Are we in Houston? I thought we were going to Cancun,” the male voice said in a video posted to Twitter. It was an apparent reference to a family vacation Cruz took last year amid statewide power outages. All those podcast episodes must have raised a lot of money for you.” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz responded to a passenger who confronted him about his views on the Second Amendment while getting off a plane. Cruz responded by pointing to his proposed school safety bill that was blocked Wednesday by Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., who accused Cruz of running “theater.” CRUZ CLASHES MURPHY OVER SCHOOL SAFETY, SAYS IF DEM ‘SHUT HIS MOUTH’ BOTH THEIR BILLS WOULD BE LAW Cruz asked the Senate to unanimously approve his legislation that would provide $15 billion to double the number of school resources, $10 billion to hire 15,000 mental health professionals for middle and high schools and $2.56 billion to security improvements for school campuses; Sen. And ask why Chris Murphy opposed and stopped the biggest school safety bill ever passed yesterday,” Cruz replied. You’re partisan, that’s okay,” Cruz said before walking away. Caitlin McFall is a reporter for Fox News Digital. She can be reached at [email protected] or @ctlnmcfall on Twitter.
