According to RCMP, the Summerland Fire Department was called to a fire Friday next to the Penticton Shooting Range near Kickinee Provincial Park. When they arrived at the scene of the fire, they discovered the two bodies. Mounties say they are treating the deaths as suspicious and the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is looking into the case. “At this time investigators are trying to locate the deceased individuals,” said Sgt. Chris Manseau in a statement. “No further details of their identities will be released pending their identification and the identification of their next of kin.” The causes of the fire have not yet been ascertained. Manseau said forensic units are currently at the scene. After discovering the fire near the firing range, another vehicle was discovered on fire in Oliver, BC, south of Penticton, mounties say. They say officers are coordinating to figure out if the Penticton and Oliver fires are related. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the RCMP at 1-877-987-8477.
