Shortly after revealing that she had begun training for the film, a touching pregnancy photo of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively may offer a tease for Deadpool 3. Reynolds and Lively first met on the set of the former’s second attempt in the genre comic book movies with Green Lantern, which was notoriously a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release. The stars tied the knot just two years later and have become one of Hollywood’s favorite celebrity couples, known for their fun on social media as much as their love. SCREEN VIDEO OF THE DAY While Reynolds has become known for various performances, his turn as the fourth wall-breaking mercenary Wade Wilson has become one of his most iconic, even with the character’s brief appearance in the widely distributed X-Men Origins: Carnivore the North. Reynolds would be a good fit for the character in 2016’s Deadpool and 2018’s equally acclaimed sequel, with audiences left on the hook for a third film following the Disney-Fox merger. The actor has been working hard with Marvel Studios to bring his character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Deadpool 3 currently in the works with Free Guy’s Shawn Levy at the helm and original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and now audiences might be getting an exciting tease of the much-awaited film. Immediately after announcing the exciting news to the public, Blake Lively took to Instagram with a collection of pregnancy photos for Ryan Reynolds’ fourth child, while also calling out the paparazzi for trying to take pictures of her. Included in the photo gallery is one of Lively and Reynolds, with the latter in a Deadpool 2 costume covered in ash and duct tape, possibly offering a hint for Deadpool 3. Check out the images below: While Reynolds often shares photos of himself wearing the Deadpool suit he took from the original film, the suit pictured above is specifically the one from the Deadpool 2 finale, with the top and bottom halves glued together after being ripped by the Juggernaut. and covered in ash from the Russell fire eruptions. While it could be argued that the photo was taken during the production of Deadpool 2, so Reynolds would have a reason to be in the suit, Reynolds and Lively’s first child was born in December 2014, well before filming of the Deadpool movie, while the second was born in September 2016, a year before Deadpool 2 began, and the third in October 2019, more than a year after the release of the latter. With Reynolds and Lively having confirmed that they were pregnant with their fourth child earlier this week, it seems more likely that the image is from her current pregnancy, thus raising the question of why Reynolds would be in the Deadpool 2 costume. Theories have swirled about how Reynolds’ beloved Marvel hero would enter the MCU with Deadpool 3 since the film’s confirmation, ranging from the multiverse narrative of the current Multiverse Saga to simply abandoning it thanks to his meta-abilities. Since Reynolds teased in early August that he had begun training on Deadpool 3, it could be assumed that him wearing the tattered suit has something to do with the new film, including production that began in secret and began with a flashback for to work the Merc with a Mouth in the MCU.
