Canelo Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin’s rivalry came to an end on Saturday in the third and final fight of boxing’s epic trilogy. Álvarez won the fight by unanimous decision. It was 115-113 on two judges’ boards with the third scoring the fight 116-112. He defeated Golovkin in 2018 via a controversial majority decision and their first fight in 2017 ended in a draw. (AP Photo/John Locher) “He’s a strong fighter,” Álvarez told the crowd in Las Vegas. “For me, I’m just happy to share the ring with him. He’s a very good fighter. I’m happy to be in this kind of fight.” Golovkin returned the feelings to Álvarez. “Everybody knows this is a high level, the best fight in boxing,” Golovkin said. “Look at his face. Look at my face.
