“We are aware of a video circulating showing a man taking down a flag outside a religious building in Melton Road, Leicester. “This appears to have happened while officers were dealing with public disorder in the area. The incident will be investigated. “Two arrests have been made – a man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder and a man on suspicion of possession of a bladed object. They remain in police custody. “We continue to call for dialogue and calm with the support of local community leaders. We will not tolerate violence or unrest in our city.” Extra officers have been patrolling the area in recent weeks following a series of incidents of disorder following an Asia Cup cricket match.
