The City of Mount Pearl and CUPE, which represents municipal workers, have reached a tentative agreement. The deal will be voted on this week and details will not be released until it is ratified by both sides. In a Tweet, the city said it was pleased to announce the agreement, adding that information about the resumption of services and programs will follow official ratification. Union president Ken Turner says negotiators have done their best, but now it’s in the workers’ hands. “We’re happy with what we got,” he told VOCM News this afternoon. “We’ve achieved what we can at the moment and we should bring that to the members and have a look at it.”
