Now that iOS 16 is available for download on your iPhone, there are plenty of cool new features you’ll want to try out. A new feature we’ve all been waiting for is the ability to view and share passwords for any Wi-Fi network you’ve ever connected to. Before iOS 16, you could share a Wi-Fi network, but it was limited between Apple devices and didn’t actually show what the password was. For example, if you wanted to connect your Nintendo Switch or smart TV to the internet this way, it wouldn’t work if you didn’t have the actual password written down. Fortunately, this last feature lets you easily go into your settings, find a Wi-Fi network, and view your Wi-Fi password. You can then copy and paste it into a text message or email and easily share it with anyone else who needs it. Here’s how. (Also see how to find saved Wi-Fi passwords on your Mac.) How to view a saved Wi-Fi password in iOS 16

For this to work, you must either be connected to the Wi-Fi network or have previously connected to it and be close enough to the router for the network to show up in your settings. If you meet these requirements, launch the Settings app on your iOS 16 iPhone and do the following:

  1. Switch to Wi-Fi.
  2. Find the Wi-Fi network you want the password for and tap the blue information icon to the right of the network name.
  3. Tap Passcode and use Face ID, Touch ID, or enter your passcode to see the passcode.
  4. Finally, tap Copy to save the password to your clipboard. You can see the passwords for all the Wi-Fi networks you’ve ever connected to, as long as you’re currently connected or close enough to show up under My networks.
