Police said the girl was found safe in the car near Laurelhurst Park, and officers reunited the child with her family in the East Precinct. Portland police announced at 11:27 p.m. Sunday that the girl had been found, about an hour after an Amber Alert was issued and more than four hours after the car was stolen. Earlier in the evening, police had urged the public to be on the lookout for a black 2011 Honda Civic with no license plates that had been stolen in Southeast Portland with a young woman, Yamilet Martinez, inside. It was reported stolen Sunday in the area of Southeast 49th Avenue and Powell Boulevard. Police did not respond to the call until around 6:50 p.m Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the girl around 10:35 p.m Police did not report any arrests. About 50 officers searched for the girl and a command post was set up in the eastern part to coordinate the search. “We have received many tips from the community and are grateful for their assistance,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
