However, the iOS 16.1 beta proves that could change that. In iOS 16, the current position of the Dynamic Island does not change when the top half of the screen is lowered when using the Reachability feature. However, it was discovered by @thetech-up on Twitter that the location of the Dynamic Island changes when the iOS 16.1 beta access feature is used. In iOS 16.1 it moves with accessibility and works as usual! Surprised this wasn’t live from the 16th pic.twitter.com/Vklsy58YAp — Tech-Up (@thetech_up) September 16, 2022 Of course, when the Dynamic Island is moving, the reduced camera notch remains intact at the top of the screen. However, all the activity that Dynamic Island offers is shifted to the bottom half of the screen. This makes tap and hold functionality accessible. Apple started incorporating Reachability as its screens got bigger in size. The Reachability option allows users to be able to lower the top half of the screen to the bottom. It’s become a key accessibility feature for those who can’t access everything a 6.1-inch screen has to offer. To enable Apple’s Accessibility feature, users need to navigate to the Settings app and the Accessibility menu. After that, you need to enable the “Reachability” option. Once enabled, users can simply swipe down on the bottom edge of the screen to lower the top half. This applies to all iPhones with Face ID. For those devices with a Home button, users can tap the Home button twice. It’s not known why Dynamic Island doesn’t support Reachability in the current version of iOS 16. That said, it’s great to see Apple quickly address the issue. Image credit: Apple Source: @thetech_up Via: 9to5Mac
